I served as the editor for this 30-minute documentary following the Pilot Light Foundation across Uganda and Rwanda, as they worked to combat extreme poverty through sustainable, community-led change. Directed by Rand Courtney, the film captures the realities of life in villages where clean water and basic infrastructure are scarce, and where small sparks of support can ignite long-term transformation.

As editor, my focus was on crafting a cohesive and emotionally resonant narrative balancing the stark challenges faced by these communities with the hopeful, human-centered mission of Pilot Light. The film weaves together powerful visuals, personal stories, and candid moments to highlight the resilience of the people and the organization’s commitment to empowering them toward economic self-sufficiency.
